Emily W.
is our Dancer of the Month for August! Emily was first introduced
to Irish music as a preschooler, when one of her grown-up friends began
playing in a Celtic band and she's loved it ever since. This fall will
begin her third year dancing for ROI at the Yorktown Studio. Emily is 9
years old and will be entering the 4th grade and she is a straight-A
student. She lives in Yorktown with her parents and 2 younger sisters.
Emily loves art in all its forms and has won awards for her drawings
and photography. In addition to dancing, Emily enjoys running,
competitive swimming, and playing soccer. Emily has started learning to
play the piano this summer and is looking forward to her Girl Scout
troop beginning again in the fall. Despite keeping busy with all her
interests, she still find plenty of time to hang out with her friends
or to curl up with a great book.

Casey K.
is our Dancer of the Month for September! Casey is starting her
freshman year at York High in the Inter-national Baccalaureate Program.
This is Casey’s fifth year of dancing at the Yorktown studio. Casey
loves to dance and compete. When she isn’t dancing, she is marching
with the York High Band, playing softball, attending Girl Scout
meetings, or hanging out with her friends. She is very active in
her community through her youth group at church and the Poquoson
Library. She also volunteers at the Jamestown History Museum were she
happily serves as an interpreter on the ships.
